Matthew Pennycook

IMG_9986Matthew Pennycook is Labour’s Parliamentary candidate for Greenwich and Woolwich at the next general election.

Matt was selected by local Labour Party members on November 30th 2013, following Nick Raynsford‘s announcement that he will be standing down as our MP in 2015.

Matt grew up in South London in a single parent family. He is an experienced campaigner for a Living Wage (he is a member of the Living Wage Foundation’s advisory board), against zero-hours contracts, and for a solution to the crisis in long-term care for the elderly. A senior research and policy analyst at the Resolution Foundation since February 2012, Matt lives in West Greenwich and has been a Labour councillor for Greenwich West ward since 2010.
